Free admission for pre-school children, journalists, members of the Slovenian Museum Society, and members of ICOM.
Free admission to the museum each first Sunday in the month!
Members of Slovenian and international professional associations are granted a 50% discount.
The library is open from 8 AM to 3 PM every day except Saturday and Sunday.
Guided tours
> Regular public guided tours of the Study Collections of Applied Art take place every first Sunday in the month at 11 and 12 AM. NMS - Metelkova
> Regular public guided tours of the exhibition Treasures of the National Museum of Slovenia, take place third Sunday every month at 3 PM.
> Regular public guided tours of the exhibition Slovene language: Identity and Symbol. A short History of Slovenes take place third Sunday every month at 4 PM.
Group tours
> Guided tours for more than 10 people can be arranged in addition to the above schedule, and can also be given in one or more foreign languages. Reservations for guided tours can be made by telephone, at least 5 days in advance. A charge is made for the tour.
Creative workshops for children and young people
> We have started a new series of ARHEOZABAVA [ARCHAEOFUN]. This workshop is for children up to age 15. The workshops will take place on the first Saturday in the month between 10.30 and 12.30 AM. Workshops for children can also be organized outside of this schedule.

> Handicap entrance is from Prešernova Road.
> The curatorial staff of the various departments can perform expert appraisals if requested in advance.
> The use of photographic equipment and video cameras is forbidden without written permission from the director.
> Public parking is available in the immediate vicinity of the museum (Republic Square).
