Description

The artefacts of red deer antler collected at Zalog near Verd, from the bed of the Ljubija stream, include particularly intriguing large sharpened objects with a hole. Their function is unclear. Similar objects, though without a hole, were found in the Gravettian site at Kammern-Grubgraben, in Austrian Styria, driven into the ground next to the remains of a yurt-like dwelling, which suggested the interpretation of them as pegs used to secure a dwelling.
