Description

Select finds from Dežman pile-dwelling settlements near Ig. The pear-shaped beaker is similar to the characteristic pottery of the Bell Beaker culture. The same goes for the bone forearm guard, stone arrowhead, quartz dagger and amulets, which were also common grave goods in the Bell Beaker culture. For the characteristically shaped ‘battle axe’ from Dežman pile-dwelling sites, there are close parallels from the Corded Ware culture, in the north of central Europe. It is a culture also known as the Battle Axe culture, after battle axes such as the one from Ig, that were common goods in the graves of warriors.
