National Museum of Slovenia 200 Years

National Museum of Slovenia 200 Years

15 September – 15 November 2021, Jakopič Promenade, The Tivoli Park, Ljubljana

The National Museum of Slovenia is the oldest museum in Slovenia. The exhibition displays in eighty pictures its rich history, collection highlights, varied fields of work, museum buildings, and numerous activities.

"Today we are celebrating our 200th anniversary, thinking about the past and devising a vision for the future. We connect history with the present and the future and bring it closer to a wide range of visitors. Our first task is, in cooperation with the public, to preserve historical monuments for future generations. May this venerable jubilee be an opportunity for new trails, ideas and challenges."

The events commemorating the 200th anniversary of the first museum in Slovenia are being held under the honorary patronage of His Excellency Mr. Borut Pahor, President of the Republic of Slovenia.
The exhibition is supported by Ljubljana Tourism, Ministry of Culture and Zavarovalnica Triglav:
