During preparation of the exhibition project Baroque in Slovenia, selected artefacts were submitted to scientific analyses and advanced conservation-restoration treatments. The following display reveals facets of museum work often invisible to the general public. The selection of presented objects demonstrates modern conservation-restoration techniques, with a particular emphasis on the use of the electrolytic pencil Pleco as well as physical gels, suitable for preserving the integrity of the artefacts. Furthermore, X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF), FTIR spectroscopy and thickness measurements expanded our knowledge of the material composition of the investigated items.
