International Ceramics Triennial UNICUM is the central international exhibition of contemporary ceramic art in Slovenia. It provides a platform for artists, designers, and makers from around the world to present their latest practices and respond to current environmental and social challenges. UNICUM has become a rference point comparable to similar events worldwide. Following the demise of the ceramic industry in Slovenia he country has seen a flourishing of small studios producing small-scale functional ceramics and ceramic art. This is also a result of the International Ceramics Triennial UNICUM and a number of other ceramics exhibitions, as well as the ceramics programs at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design and the Faculty of Education at the University of Ljubljana.
