TRANSFORM is an ambitious project on connecting art academies
of South-East Europe which has been implemented biannually since 2009. It gives
young creators a platform for a professional presentation in the framework of
an international group exhibition and thereby significantly contributes to the
development of international cooperation between higher education institutions
in the field of visual arts.
The Academy of Fine Arts and Design (UL ALUO) has
successfully participated in all foreign exhibitions of the project to date; in
2019, for the centennial of the University in Ljubljana, the ALUO took over the
organisation and implementation of the exhibition and the accompanying event program
in Ljubljana (in multiple locations: Museum of Modern Art Metelkova, National
Museum of Slovenia, Slovene Ethnographic Museum, Alkatraz Gallery and Pešak
Gallery).
In this year’s exhibition, titled TRANS-FORM:ACTION,
which will take place between 15 October and 17 November 2019, students
from the academies in Ljubljana, Zagreb, Sophia, Bucharest, Skopje and Istanbul
are participating.
The following events will also take place in the
framework of the project: a ten-day workshop titled Place in Transformation with select students from guest partner academies (4 –15 October 2019) and the exhibition
Transformations, a presentation of the short-listed proposals for holistic
graphic design TRANS-FORM:ACTION at the TAM-TAM Street Gallery (8 October–11 November
2019).
Opening of the exhibition will take place on Tuesday, 15 October 2019, at 7 pm.
